CONADE Nationals Near Completion; More Gold for Jalisco

Another big day of activities within the Conade Nationals came to an end this Monday with competitions in varied sports.

The CONADE Nationals based in Jalisco are in their final phase, after the first day of rhythmic gymnastics began yesterday and artistic swimming today. Both will be the last disciplines of the calendar in our entity.

Jalisco demonstrated why it is the benchmark at the national level in diving by closing its participation with a total of 35 gold medals, above the 15 obtained by Nuevo León. It is worth mentioning that, on the last day, the Jalisco delegation hung seven golds, one silver and three bronzes, within the men's individual platform, men's 1m trampoline, individual women's 3m trampoline, and men's and women's synchronized platform.

Also the women's wrestling categories started. In the opening session, the Jaliscan team accumulated a gold medal by Karime Cortés (73kg,) and three silvers won by Sofía Ocegueda (53kg,) Iliana Aguilar (43kg,) and Angélica Plascencia (54kg.)

Meanwhile in speed roller skating, based in Nuevo León, Jalisco got a gold on the part of Carolina Rodríguez in the juvenile major, a silver from José Luis Carrada in junior youth, and 4 bronzes with Jorge Montes in junior, Dania Godoy and Mateo Hinojosa in senior youth, and Ara Lilith Pérez in the junior category.

This Monday's session in sports shooting gave our delegation a gold and a silver medal. The golden medal was in the 10m rifle senior youth category in the duo made up of Luisa Márquez and Paul Rodríguez after defeating Nuevo León 16 points to 4. Silver was in the junior youth category, for the couple made up of Samantha Ortega and Braulio Ortega.

With two gold medals, the Jalisco water polo team in the men's branch said goodbye Monday after the final matches of the eight-day event held at the Metropolitan Aquatic Complex.

The matches were heart-warming, and full of emotion and good play. Closing the finals in this context, Jalisco was victorious over Nuevo León in the junior category by 8-7, and over Mexico City by 7-4. The bronzes were for Sonora and Baja California Sur, respectively.

In the other water polo final held Monday, Michoacán took the gold in the children's category over Mexico City, who took the silver, while the bronze went to Guanajuato, beating Jalisco 7-5 in the bronze match.

At the Bicentennial Velodrome in Aguascalientes, speed tests and team pursuit events were held, setting off the track cycling events. Two gold medals and two bronzes opened the activities for Jalisco.

Fernanda Salazar, Abigail Cuadra, and Vanessa González earned the first golden medal in the team speed test within the Youth C category, while in the Sub 23, Melanie Janet Ramírez, María José Vizcaíno, and Andrea Ortiz were in charge of adding the second gold for the delegation.

Finally, the bronzes fell into the hands of Julieta Guerrero in the Youth B points race and the other bronze for Jalisco in men’s pursuit in the Youth B category.
