Six Mexicans Go To Finals of the Pan American Boxing Qualifier

Six Aztec boxers entered their names in the finals of the Junior Boxing Qualifying Tournament towards the Cali 2021 Junior Pan American Games after defeating their respective opponents in the semifinals.

The event was held yesterday at the Polideportivo Alcalde Dome in Guadalajara.

The first to sign up for the title fight was Kevin Cantabrana, who defeated Puerto Rican Ángel Llanos by unanimous decision in a suit for the welterweight division.

Immediately afterwards, Yahir Gallardo advanced to the final of light heavyweight without unloading a blow, after the Brazilian Ricardo de Oliveira failed to appear in the ring.

At heavyweight, Ángel Daniel López accounted for Colombian Sebastián Murillo, whom he defeated by unanimous decision.

In the women's category, the first to become a finalist was Margarita Murguía from Jalisco, after defeating Gracemare Quiles, from Puerto Rico, by RSC in the third episode of a flyweight fight.

Rosa Astrid de la Luz defeated Chile's Sofía Rebolledo by split decision after a thunderous featherweight fight.

Finally, María Guadalupe Rodríguez defeated Colombian Roxana Briceño by split decision, in a fight in the welterweight division.

Aarón Amaro succumbed by unanimous decision to the American Ali Feliz in super heavyweight.

And Gema Morales from Jalisco could not overcome Colombian Camila Gabriela Camilo, in a lightweight fight that stopped by RSC in the third episode in favor of Camilo.

Finally, Darianne Hernández fell by split decision to Maryelis Yriza of Venezuela at middleweight.

The finals will play out today in the Dome of the Alcalde Sports Center in Guadalajara. There will be five women's and eight men's suits, and admission to the public is completely free.
