DIF Vallarta Offers Free Counseling on Nutritional Health

Due to the need that exists in vulnerable sectors to improve their nutritional and health plan, the Puerto Vallarta DIF System offers free nutritional consultation services.

These services are focused on helping people who seek to improve their eating habits.

Ismael Huerta Mendoza, coordinator of the Nutrition area, indicated that it is a broad program in which it is recommended to follow a nutritional plan. Information on healthy eating and food balance is offered, giving users special treatment with the monitoring of each person to achieve their goal; whether it is to lose weight, gain weight, change their eating habits, or even help people who suffer from health problems related to their diet.

The service will be provided at no cost to the Vallarta population that requires it. Services are offered in the esplanade of the central offices of the health care agency, where a general review of weight, height, and body mass index is carried out, and information is given on topics such as "La Jar of Good Drinking,”“ The Plate of Good Eating,” and “Healthy Habits To Do.”

To receive attention in nutritional problems related to chronic diseases or pathologies, it is necessary to call to make an appointment at telephone 322 225 9936-40.

A face mask must be worn during your visit to the Nutrition department, which is located in the municipal DIF System facilities, with address at Paseo de las Palmas S/N avenue, Barrio Santa María neighborhood.

Good eating habits can greatly affect the length and quality of your life. This is especially true for persons with diabetes or blood sugar conditions, and persons with heart or blood pressure conditions. If you or a family member suffer any of these, it would be of great benefit to keep informed about healthy eating habits and follow a balanced nutritional plan.
