Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra Offers Another Night at the Museum

For the second time, following a performance just last week, the Patio de los Naranjos of the Cabañas Museum dressed up to receive the 180 attendees who gathered to enjoy

an evening of the Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra (OFJ.) Guests were pleased to return to the live, face-to-face concerts after the closing of cultural spaces due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The nocturnal symphonic display was commanded by the “Midday Dance for Wood Quintet” by Mexican composer Arturo Márquez, followed with a composition by Bonn Beethoven.

Compositions for brass quintet were present with a select sequence, “Scheidt's Battle Suite,”  “Procession for Elsa de Wagner,” and finally the night closed with “Selecciones de la Suite Americana” by E. Crespo.

The experience of this new stage livened by the arts is carried out with all the necessary health protocols to receive attendees in an orderly and safe manner.

The Philharmonic Ochestra was established in 1912 by Jose Rolon, and was originally called Sinfonica de Guadalajara. It has had Placido Domingo and Claudio Abbado among its conductors, and has performed concerts, ballets, operas, and chamber music programs.

The closing of this first season of concerts of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Jalisco in the open air at the Cabañas Museum will take place next Thursday, April 20, at 8:30 p.m.

The seats for the full season were sold out even before the opening concert, so the public will be able to enjoy it live through the Jalisco TV signal and from its broadcast on Sunday at noon, as well as on social networks of the OFJ.
