Though Known for Wings, Sticky Fingers Gets My Vote for Coconut Shrimp

Though Known for Wings, Sticky Fingers Gets My Vote for Coconut Shrimp

Sticky Fingers Restaurant, located in Marina Vallarta, has been serving its customers great food and a festive mood for over 10 years.

Recently my sister and her boyfriend, Erin & Darren, left their wintry home in northern Michigan to come visit me here in paradise. Darren is a huge fan of coconut shrimp, as am I, and while they were here we went on a quest for the town’s best coconut shrimp. We went to the places that I remembered as preparing the dish well, but I have to say I was unexpectedly underwhelmed. All of them were okay, I mean how can you screw up coconut shrimp, but none were really great.

Sticky Fingers, being known for its many varieties of chicken wings, did not even occur to me as a consideration in the shrimp quest. Then last week my family and I stopped there for dinner, and that’s when I saw it; coconut shrimp, so I had to order it. It was absolutely delicious, by far the best I had yet. The shrimp were fresh and delicious, and the taste and amount of the coconut was just right. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, and the coconut breading was crisp and crunchy. Their original house-made sweet and spicy mango sauce complimented the dish well.

The evening was topped off with Kahlua and cream served in a separated shot glass, allowing an instant of two distinct flavors which then blended across the tongue, yummy! Sorry you missed this one Darren, and let’s put Sticky Fingers at the top of our list for your next visit.
