Get a Super Good and Filling Sushi Roll At Bonsai Sushi

Today we went to another great and low cost sushi restaurant!

Hello, again. My dad and I, and sometimes my mom comes along too, have been going out on the town to find some of the best not so well known cheap eats, mostly family-owned, restaurants that we can find. We go out almost every day, finding some new little place, or big place, to tell you about and review the food and prices.

So, most time when I write about a sushi restaurant I start off talking about how I keep finding more and more low-cost sushi places, and I question if I’ll find any more, but I found another place! We’ve actually driven by there a lot of times, and we always saw it packed full, sometimes with people waiting to be seated. So today we decided to stop there and try it out. The place is called Bonsai Sushi and is located on Calle Prisciliano Sánchez 400 in Palmar De Aramara.

They have lots of different rolls on their menu, as well as a lot of different Japanese dishes such as yakimeshi, teppanyaki, and many, many others! They also had lots of different deals and promotions, one of which was 2 dishes for 160 pesos, when one dish is 100 pesos on average! And there were 14 dishes that you could choose from for that deal, though it is only available on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. One of the other deals were two of the more expensive dishes for 180 pesos, which is still really low cost!! But, again, it is only available Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

It always takes me forever to choose when I go to a sushi restaurant, since I like most of the items on the menu, but when I finally ordered I decided to get the dynamite roll. It was wrapped in breaded and fried fish, and on the inside it had cream cheese, avocado, and shrimp. It also had a little pile of crab salad, a piece of avocado, and siracha on the top of each slice, and it had a giant pile of fried rice and a salad on the side, which on it’s own almost filled me up! It was an immense amount of food, for only 140 pesos, and it was super good! When I first tasted the sushi I was really surprised because it was crunchiest fried roll I’ve ever had, and it had really good flavor too! Even though it sounds a little simple, it was delicious, and if we go back, I’ll definitely order it again!

My dad ordered a beef teppanyaki, though he got a chicken one and didn’t want to ask it to be changed, as it was super busy there and everyone was running around. When he saw that the chicken was chicken breast, he was a little disappointed, but when he tasted it he was actually surprised! It was actually quite juicy, and not dry at all, so he actually really enjoyed it!  As for the vegetables, he was also pretty surprised, because it’s the first teppanyaki he’s had here in PV that had bean sprouts in it since they’re so expensive. But not only that, all of the vegetables were perfectly cooked! All in all, he really enjoyed his dish, and he said he wants to go back!

Bonsai Sushi, like I said, gets pretty packed, so I recommend going there early, or at least not during lunchtime, which is when we went. But no matter what time, I definitely recommend visiting this place! And if you’re coming from/going to the Marina, Puerto Magico, the cruise ship terminal, or the Aramara Market, this is a great place to go to as it’s nearby, low-cost, and has great food! And on top of that, even if they’re busy, the service is super fast! Also I just want to say that there were so many different to-go orders being made and taken as we were sitting there.

Thank you, Ron Almstead for recommending this place!
