A Homecooked Meal At The Mall

A Homecooked Meal At The Mall

Today we went to a little restaurant at the restaurant row in Plaza Caracol.

Hello, again. My dad and I, and sometimes my mom comes along too, have been going out on the town to find some of the best not so popular cheap eats, mostly family-owned, restaurants that we can find. We go out almost every day, finding some new little place, or big place, to tell you about and review the food and prices.

A couple days ago I noticed my phone battery was swollen, so today we took it to get fixed at Plaza Caracol. It only took about an hour, which isn’t very much, but we didn’t wanna wait and linger around that long, and we didn’t want to drive home and come back, so we decided to get a bite to eat. We walked down the long row of restaurants at the plaza, and then we decided on the one that had a sign saying they have a 55 peso breakfast! The place is called Mi Gran Sazon, and is located at Local B-23 in Plaza Caracol, which is on Av. Los Tules 178 in Versalles. The latitude longitude location for Mi Gran Sazon is 20.640683571629037, -105.23236260010198. They don’t do deliveries, except if you’re in the plaza already they can bring it to you, so long as you tell them a certain place and are clear with your instructions.

Mi Gran Sazon serves tacos, tortas, quesadillas, burritos, and other Mexican lunch and breakfast items. Like I said before, they have a 55 peso breakfast, where you can gat scrambled eggs, hot cakes, chilaquiles, or molletes. And, for 20 more pesos you can get chorizo, ham, onions, bell peppers, and optionally serranos, in your eggs. They also have a few different meal options for 78 pesos, which are enchiladas, flautas, and chicken milanesa. This is another great place, where you can taste the food is all made to order, and all homemade. Even the salsas are!

I got the enchiladas, but instead of chicken I asked for cheese, onions, and oregano. It’s the original and traditional way of making enchiladas. When I first tasted them, I was surprised, because the sauce was a tomato-y sauce, which isn’t what I’m used to, but it was really good! It was also really smooth, and not chunky, which I liked, since some tomato sauces I’ve seen used on enchiladas are a bit chunky. They didn’t put very much cheese on the inside, but either way they were really good. And the lettuce and tomato on it were very fresh! It was a very good and filling meal, and it was super cheap.

My dad got the scrambled eggs with all the stuff I mentioned before, which are called huevos mexicanos. He says they were really good, they had a lot of veggies and meat which made them super filling, and that they were really juicy. My dad hates dry scrambled eggs, he won’t even eat them if they are dry, but these weren’t dry at all. Though, my dad still drenched them in two kinds of salsa, a molcajete sauce and a cola de rata sauce, which he really liked. He liked all of the sauces, even the green one, which normally he doesn’t. My dad says that you could put a good salsa on cardboard and it would taste good, and he’s not saying that the eggs were bad or anything, but these sauces were really tasty and that type of sauce.

Mi Gran Sazon has plenty of room, but sometimes it can fill up quite a bit, and you may or may not find a seat. The place has been there for around 7 years, and I remember when I was younger walking by it, and seeing it full of people. It’s a really good place, and I haven’t tried the other places in that row, but if you are in Plaza Caracol and want a snack, then I recommend stopping at Mi Gran Sazon!!
