A Super Filling And Genuine Mexican Meal For About 4 Dollars

A Super Filling And Genuine Mexican Meal For About 4 Dollars

Today we went to Sin Miedo al Exito for a super filling and real Mexican brunch.

Hello, again. My dad and I, and sometimes my mom comes along too, have been going out on the town to find some of the best not so popular cheap eats, mostly family-owned, restaurants that we can find. We go out almost every day, finding some new little place, or big place, to tell you about and review the food and prices.

A couple days ago as we were walking towards Sushiro we saw a little place that caught our eye. It was called something like Desayunos Y Comidas La Abuela, which means Grandma’s Lunch And Breakfast. Turns out that was an old sign and no longer their name, but either way my dad had a good feeling about this. He told me, full of confidence, that this place was going to have absolutely amazing and traditional Mexican food. So, we went back today, and of course he was right. Their proper name is Sin Miedo al Exito, and they are are located on Calle Jilguero 232 in Aralias 2, right next to Tavalo Pizza Rustica. They’re not shown on Google Maps as a restaurant, but their longitude latitude location is 20.643097990102344, -105.21516918030753. And they do delivery to close-by areas for free, or to other areas for a small fee. To the tourist zone it’s 50 pesos, more or less.

Sin Miedo al Exito is a comida corrida place, but they serve a different guisado everyday. They always have burgers, chicken milanesa, and liver with onions, but then they have another dish that they have special for that day. Today their dish was chicken flautas, which are like chicken crunchy tacos. And they always have a water of the day. Today their water was lima, a yellow citrus fruit much like lemon, having a sweeter and more delicate flavor than limes, which makes them very special. And their cultivation is very limited, so a kilo of them costs about 60 pesos, while oranges or limes are much cheaper, about 15 pesos. Their lunch costs 80 pesos, about $4 USD, and comes with a small water and a bowl of noodle soup.

I got the flautas, and they were pretty good! But the part I loved the most was the soup they give you. It had such a strong flavor of chicken and tomato and herbs, yet it wasn’t too strong. My dad and I both loved it, and we grabbed tortilla after tortilla to dip in the soup and eat. Though by the time we got our main plates, we were so full! We didn’t know why, but we felt sooo stuffed. Then we realized how many tortillas we just ate while enjoying the soup. I couldn’t even finish a single taco, and there were 4 on the plate, but what I did taste was really yummy!  The chicken was a little bit dry, but full of flavor and well seasoned. And the tortillas were crisp and crunchy without exaggeratedly hard.

My dad got the chicken milanesa, but he couldn’t even finish it!! After getting the the soup added a few spoonfuls of the cola de rata sauce to it, so it was filling and spicy!! Though, he was able to eat half of his milanesa, even though he was very full. The chicken was soft and moist, and the breading was kinda sweet and really good. Also, his plate came with rice and beans, and my dad loved the rice! He said it was totally above average.

Sin Miedo Al Exito is a little place, and the room is very limited, but somehow it suffices. There are about half a dozen tables spread out in the small building or out front. And the kitchen is quite small, but the woman cooking also has everything under control and is totally relaxed, even though sometimes she’ll have several things cooking at a time!!
