Kasava Taste: One Of, If Not The Very Best Grilled Chicken In PV

Kasava Taste: One Of, If Not The Very Best Grilled Chicken In PV

Today we went to Kasava Taste in Jardines.

Hello, again. My dad and I, and sometimes my mom comes along too, have been going out on the town to find some of the best hole in the wall, off the beaten path cheap eats restaurants that we can find. We go out almost every day, finding some new little place to tell you about and review the food and prices.

It was starting to get late in the afternoon, about 4 pm, and my dad got hungry. He quickly called up Kasava Taste, since they close kind of early, to see if they still had chicken. The owner answered and she said she did, so we got in the car and went to go get a freshly grilled chicken. Kasava Taste is located on Prol Tampico #413 across the street from Super Kiosko, and the longitude latitude location is 20.632553614269426, -105.20825725502641. They also sometimes do local deliveries, but make sure to call them first.

Here they serve grilled chickens and baby-back ribs with an assortment of delicious sauces, and also snacks and side dishes such as Caribbean rice. Their unique flavors are a fusion of Caribbean, Indian, Oriental, American, and Mexican; Wow, what a mix! They have a tropical Caribbean sauce, a curry sauce, a spicy Chinese sauce, a BBQ sauce, and spicy Mango Habanero.

We got the mango habanero, a favorite in our house. And, let me tell you, it was delicious!! It had a wonderful sweet fruitiness that complimented and cooled the spiciness, allowing you to taste the habanero flavor without being over-spiced.

The chicken was cooked perfectly and still very moist with the perfect amount of grill flavor, and complimented so well by the delicious sauces. I’m quite picky when it comes to lots of things, but especially chicken, because lots of times chicken can be rather bland with no seasoning, or too dry, or if it’s grilled it may have too much charcoal flavor. But this chicken was excellent, and I loved it!

We got a whole chicken for 149 pesos, which isn’t the cheapest chicken in town, but well worth it considering it might be the best grilled chicken in PV.

The sidewalk cafe is in front of the owner’s house, which used to be a papeleria, and there are a couple small tables where you can sit. The grill is set up right there in front so you get to see her cook and sauce your chicken. Sometimes it gets busy and there can be a bit of a wait, so if you are hungry it might be better for you to call ahead of time or order delivery.

And even though the food was delicious, the woman herself and her life is very interesting and suprised me. I didn't want to cram that into part of an article, so I've written a whole different one about her. You can read it here.
