El Tulipan; An "Experencia Gastronomica"

El Tulipan; An "Experencia Gastronomica"

Today we went to a restaurant super good food and a friendly ambience.

Hello, again. My dad and I, and sometimes my mom comes along too, have been going out on the town to find some of the best not so well known cheap eats, mostly family-owned, restaurants that we can find. We go out almost every day, finding some new little place, or big place, to tell you about and review the food and prices.

Most of the time when we go out to eat it’s a place we see while we’re driving around or a place that we saw before, but today we went to a restaurant that was recommended to us. They’re mostly known for their breakfast, but we went for lunch. Either way though, our food was really good! The place is called El Tulipan and is located on Liverpool 101 in Versalles, and they’re apart of Ruta Versalles, which is a route with, so far, 23 selected restaurants in the Versalles area, 3 of which I’ve written about in the past, and 4 with this one. I’ll link them at the end.

Anyways, El Tulipan has lots of variety when it comes to the dishes they have. They have both savory and sweet breakfast meals, Mexican dishes, Italian dishes, soups, salads, and more! They also have lots of drinks, both hot and cold. So, I’m sure there’s something for everyone!

I got a chai latte to drink, which was super good. It was very spice-y and frothy, and just straight up a really good latte. To eat, I got an American Panini which had turkey ham, cheese, lettuce, and honey mustard. The ham was really good, and you could tell it wasn’t some cheap ham like Fud, but it was real ham. It paired really nicely with the sweet honey mustard and the salty cheese, and the lettuce added a really nice freshness to it. Overall, the sandwich was perfectly balanced. And, instead of just giving out potato chips or French fries the panini came with a side of baked baby potatoes, which were super good. They had some slightly caramelized onions mixed in with them, which gave the potatoes a slightly sweet flavor, and they were dressed in a really good olive oil. My dad says he could eat a whole bowl of them, hot or cold. They were super good!

My dad got a green juice, which had a lot of greens in it and had lots of pulp, and a pesto fusilli with chicken. At first my dad was actually going to get pomodoro, and he asked if it was homemade, which they replied yes to, but then realized that they were out of it, so he asked if the pesto was homemade, and again they said yes, so he ordered that. And, as the waiter was walking away, he called him back and added chicken to his pasta for a few more pesos. When his meal arrived he was really excited to taste it, and barely let me take a photo, but once I was done he didn’t even bother to get his fork. He just picked up a piece of his pasta with his fingers, and as soon as he tasted it he said that it was really good, and told me to taste it. You could tell that the olive oil used was high quality, so it had a very distinct taste, and it was also properly seasoned. Also, both the pasta and the chicken were perfectly cooked, and it was a really good dish. I definitely recommend getting the chicken, even if it does cost a little more.

El Tulipan is a place that has really good food, a great vibe, and the staff are all really friendly. One of the owners, Ramon, is also the waiter, and he’s super nice. After a while my latte got cold, so he brought me hot cream and added it to my latte to heat it up. Plus, twice he brought some finely shopped ham for Michi. Overall, El Tulipan is a great place with great people, great service, and great food.
