Fall In Love With The Food At La Romántica

Fall In Love With The Food At La Romántica

Today we went to a restaurant and café bar with a beautiful, romantic setting and delicious food, which has always caught our attention when we drove by it before.

Hello, again. My dad and I, and sometimes my mom comes along too, have been going out on the town to find some of the best not so popular cheap eats, mostly family-owned, restaurants that we can find. We go out almost every day, finding some new little place, or big place, to tell you about and review the food and prices.

Lots of times when my dad and I are driving back from having lunch we have to go through Fluvial, and I’ve always noticed a sign that said a panini, a soup, and a beverage for $129 pesos, which is super fair if not cheap. We’ve never gotten to stop though, since it’s always on our way back from eating. But, this morning I thought about the place, and I told my dad I wanted to go there today, instead of someplace else, and we did! The place is called La Romántica, and has two locations. The location in Fluvial is on Avenida Fluvial Vallarta #219 in Fluvial Vallarta, and the longitude latitude location is 20.641366806008737, -105.22850597301235, and the other location, in the romantic zone, is located on C. Rodolfo Gomez #106 in Emiliano Zapata, and the longitude latitude location is 20.60002955517117, -105.2382897579673.

La Romántica serves the same type of food, though has a slightly different menu between the two locations. In the romantic zone, they have a smaller place, that’s more like a café where you can go to get a cup of coffee and churro. They do have a couple of paninis there, but that’s it. In Fluvial they tried to make it more like a restaurant, and they have lots of paninis, wraps, salads, burgers, fish and chips, and other main courses including personal pizzas. The pizzas use homemade crusts and sauces, and the cheese is a special Mexican blend from Cremeria Versalles. In the end, there’s lots more variety hare at Fluvial, but both of them offer good food with great flavors. They also have really interesting malts, which all are made with homemade gelato. For example, they even have one that contains vodka!! And, on top of their already crazy yet fun malt selection, they create a new one every month. This month’s malt is key-lime pie!

I got the monthly malt and a Cesar chicken wrap, which were both absolutely delicious. They brought me the malt before anything, and my first thought was, wow, that’s giant! It looked just as gorgeous as it did in the picture on the menu, except for the fact that in the picture it seemed smaller. I’m not complaining in any way, I was just surprised in a very good way! All their malts also come with a churro, so with the rich, creamy-ness of the malt and the thick, warm, fresh churro with cinnamon and sugar dusted around it, it was a meal in itself! Ok, maybe not a full meal, but definitely a full dessert entree rather than simply a drink!!

The Cesar chicken wrap was wrapped with a tortilla; and had lettuce, chicken, cesar sauce, and Parmesan cheese all throughout the inside. All of it was warm, which wilted the lettuce just a little, and normally I wouldn’t be super fond of that, but in this case it worked perfectly!! The chicken was super soft, and the sauce was sweet and full of flavor, and there was a generous amount of it, which I really liked, so not a single bite was dry or plain. The tortilla was flour, but had a super good flavor, and was just slightly golden. It also had a sweet balsamic vinegar reduction sauce dripped down the tortilla, which added another layer of flavor. All the flavors came together so well, and everything was really fresh! After finishing my wrap I barely touched the nice little salad that came on the side, the wrap was so good I forgot to save room!!

My dad got the sandwich, soup, and drink special for $129, which is what we had came for. There were three different options for the sandwich, or panini, two for the soup, and a few for the drink. My dad got a pesto chicken panini, Azteca soup also known as tortilla soup, and a limonada.  Our first thoughts were that the plate was super pretty, and actually kind of elegant, which we were very impressed with. The soup had a little wavy design made with crema, and the sandwich was perfectly angled and placed on top of each other. First, my dad tasted the soup. Now, there’s many different types of tortilla soups, some are more runny, and some are thickened with tortillas aside from the strips that are later added. This was kinda in-between, it was thick, but not too thick, and it wasn’t runny like chicken broth. In other words, it was perfect. The flavor was really good too, and didn’t have too little or too much seasoning. There’s not much more I can say about that, because it was just right.

Next he tasted the sandwich. Normally when you bite into a sandwich you taste bread, then the filling; but not here, not with this panini. It surprises your mouth that the bread was warm and soft, and you could feel it, but what you tasted was the chicken, lettuce, tomato, and pesto, the filling. Then he tasted the bread on it’s own, and on its own it was delicious fresh-baked bread, as they bake it themselves. As a whole, the sandwich was simply so perfectly put together that nothing was overpowering.

La Romántica in Fluvial is actually a really big place, that’s very pretty, fancy, even elegant! When my dad and I walked in, we were both surprised at how nice it looked, and how big it was! My dad even Wow’ed!! It really is a gorgeous place. There are pictures all over different walls of old actors and actresses, the kind who played in black and white films. Some are black and white while some are tinted blue, or yellow, or pink. It may sound chaotic, but the colors complimented each other and the pictures were placed perfectly, so they looked nice, not funky. Also, something else I noticed was that the top of the tables were yellow, while the chairs and booth were pink and blue, which matched the pictures really well.
