Artists and Filmmakers of CCD Connecta Program Meet with Industry Professionals

In a great effort made by Ciudad Creativa Digital and the Government of Jalisco to promote talent in the audiovisual sector, this Monday began the review of portfolios of more than 450 participants of the CCD

Conecta 2021 program, by 80 artists and international experts from the audiovisual industry.

This week, and until June 11, approximately 865 mentoring and portfolio review sessions will be held for 450 of the most prominent participants, by a team of international experts, mostly members of specialized organizations such as Rise up animation, and LatinX in Animation (Lxia), both from the United States.

Experts include the producer of the short film “Hair Love,” that won the Oscar in 2020, and artists from Dreamworks, Nickelodeon, Pixar, Wildbrain, Sony, Warner, Netflix, Marvel Studios, and others.

More than 1,750 graduate students and professionals participate in this training program for employment in the audiovisual industry.

It is the first time in this sector of the audiovisual industry that this one by one review of portfolios has been carried out in such a large number, and with an important number of artists and recruiters from companies of international stature.

For this edition, it was possible to have the participation of more than 1,700 participants nationwide. Programs such as CCD Conecta 2021 seek to position the state and the country as a benchmark for creativity and innovation at the national and international level, promoting young talent and consolidated professionals in the audiovisual and technology-based industries. By creating different models with a high impact on the industry, the organizers seek to provide great opportunity and make the most of the participation of the interested parties, putting at their disposal all the tools that are necessary to consolidate themselves as artists.

The Ciudad Creativa Digital project is the result of a national competition commissioned by the Federal Government in 2010, in which the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) chose Guadalajara among 11 major cities in Mexico, to select and support the one with the greatest potential and viability to carry out the project.
