In order to strengthen the technological capabilities of the High Technology sector of Jalisco, the state will be granting scholarships to companies and/or entrepreneurs for specialized training from the University of Montreal.
The State Council of Science and Technology of Jalisco (COECYTJAL,) in collaboration with the Jalisco Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology (SICyT,) will grant the scholarships to about 25 companies and/or entrepreneurs so that the Institute for Data Valuation at the University of Montreal can train them in knowledge of artificial intelligence.
"Applicants may be from micro, small, medium and large companies, as well as entrepreneurs from Jalisco. All of them will be able to access a scholarship for training in artificial intelligence with an emphasis on machine learning," said Francisco Márquez, director of management of projects of the COECYTJAL.
According to the call "Development of Jalisco Talent in Artificial Intelligence with a Focus on Solving Problems in the Industry 2021," applicants will have the opportunity to access up to 90% of the total scholarship for this training, which is equivalent to a maximum amount of 12,000 pesos.
Those interested in participating must also have advanced command of the English language to be able to take the training sessions, which consists of five topics and will last seven weeks.
This call arose as part of the international linkage work of the state of Jalisco, specifically the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the SICyT and the University of Montreal, the Polytechnic of Montreal, and the HEC Montreal, which was carried out on November 23, 2019.
The general objectives of this collaboration with Canadian institutions range from strengthening the technological capabilities of profiles within the high-tech industry in Jalisco to facilitating the joint implementation of programs, projects, and activities of common interest, especially in the area of Artificial Intelligence.
Companies and entrepreneurs interested in participating in the call will have until August 9 to apply, or until the funds of 300,000 pesos set aside for this training is exhausted. To apply to the call, you should consult the bases at: http://gobjal.mx/IVADO
