Enrique Alfaro calls to maintain dialogue with the Chamber that has been an essential part of decision-making during this pandemic and the process of economic reactivation.
The Governor of the State of Jalisco, Enrique Alfaro Ramírez, led this morning the inauguration of the protest to the new President of the National Chamber of the Restaurant and Seasoned Food Industry (CANIRAC,) Mario Alberto Ávalos González. He coincided that today the Economic reactivation advances and this body will be part of the court that will be presented in the evaluation of the Jalisco Covid-19 Plan coming up in the middle of the year.
“At the table we are going to be open to assessing the things that are put forward as proposals, and I am sure that the proposals that CANIRAC has in this regard will be seriously analyzed at the end of June by the table. What we want? We want to move forward, we want Jalisco to continue reactivating its economy, but taking care of the health and life of Jalisco residents is a formula that has been difficult to reconcile. But now over the weeks we have shown that, when clear rules are established and we all comply with these rules, we can move forward minimizing the risk,” stated the Governor.
Given the low levels of infections and hospitalizations, the intervention of the CANIRAC Jalisco will be part of the decision-making team, to continue maintaining frank and direct communication, and maintaining dialogue above all. Likewise, the Chief Executive stressed that he will consider working together in the creation of gastronomic corridors.
"In this state, there is dialogue with the businessmen. We do not simulate an exercise in the construction of agreements, here we dialogue head-on. If there is any difference it is put on the table, it is discussed, it is valued, and if necessary adjustments are made as to what the company does. What we want is to maintain that frank, direct communication. I think that is what has differentiated the reality of Jalisco from what has happened in the rest of the country," he said.
After protesting, Mario Alberto Ávalos explained that the union allows them to continue standing, and in view of this reality, he insisted on rethinking priority issues such as tax incentives and regulatory procedures, among others. The mission of this council will be three axes: professionalization; the consolidation of the restaurant sector, and the firm representation of the interests of the union.
National President of CANIRAC, Germán González Bernal, highlighted Jalisco as a pillar of the economic development of Mexico.
In his speech, González Bernal pointed out that in the face of the health crisis, the restaurant industry closed 120,000 spaces and suffered the loss of 400,000 jobs, and although it is far from recovery, they are working in the chamber to rebuild, reinvent, and advance in the defiance of the pandemic. He in turn supported the Governor to maintain the dialogue of the authorities within the three levels of government in Jalisco.
“I recognize the government's effort to support our industry, and I am confident that the measures that contribute to accelerating the economy of this sector, where thousands of families live, will soon be expanded. Mr. Governor, it has been demonstrated time and again not only in Mexico, but throughout the world, that our industry is not a source of contagion but on the contrary, it is a source of resources, development, and employment. We are the foremost option for self-employment in the country."
