Ajijic Cultural Center and New Bike Lane Will Enhance Chapala Tourism

Enrique Alfaro supervised construction works of the Ajijic Cultural Center displaying unique architecture, as well as the remodeled Plaza de Toros Sports Unit.

The Ajijic Cultural Center and the bikeway that is about to be completed in the municipality of Chapala will encourage tourism in the region, said Governor Enrique Alfaro Ramírez, after supervising the works of the site and the Sports Unit Bullring.

“The important thing is that it is articulated with all the renovation work on the Chapala-Jocotepec highway, and the bicycle lane that we are also going to finish this year, which is going to be spectacular. We are already very close to finishing it and then with more sports and cultural infrastructure of connectivity, of course. In educational matters we are paying for Chapala to be a first-class tourist municipality, a place where there is quality of life,” indicated Alfaro.

On the Chapala-Jocotepec highway, the cultural center with a unique architecture will add 43.5 million pesos in works to be delivered next year, in which the local and foreign community will have a meeting point where, in addition to recreational activities, they will develop a circus school and aerial dance, informed the Secretary of Culture Lourdes González.

Citizens of Chapala mentioned that they have waited 30 years for the sports unit of the riverside municipality to be remodeled with soccer fields, roofing in bleachers, perimeter wall, lighting, bathrooms, dressing rooms, walkers, gardening, ramp for emergency vehicles, and other jobs.

Together with Mayor Moisés Anaya, who is at the end of his municipal administration, the Governor of Jalisco mentioned that the unit is a reflection of the change that the municipalities and the state government were able to consolidate with priority works of direct benefit to Chapalenses.

"Today we are delivering a work that is worth 15 million pesos, and that money is not a gift from Moy, or Enrique Alfaro, it is the people's money, it is the money of the people of Jalisco," concluded the Governor.
