Declaration of Natural Disaster from Hurricane “Nora” Officially Published

The Declaration of Natural Disasters was officially published in the Official Gazette of the Federation for 20 municipalities in the state of Jalisco.

The municipalities that were affected by the rains and by the hurricane "Nora" that this Declaration establishes are:

  1. Cihuatlán
  2. La Huerta
  3. Saint Gabriel
  4. Zapotlán el Grande
  5. Autlán de Navarro
  6. Casimiro Castillo
  7. El Grullo
  8. Villa Purificación
  9. Cabo Corrientes
  10. Talpa de Allende
  11. Tomatlán
  12. Atenguillo
  13. Atoyac
  14. Cuautitlán de García Barragán
  15. Ejutla
  16. El Limón
  17. Pet
  18. Mixtlán
  19. Santa Maria del Oro
  20. Puerto Vallarta

The declaration obeys the request made by the Governor of the State, issued on September 4 of this year.

The publication states that “it is declared a disaster area due to the occurrence of Hurricane (severe rain and strong winds) on August 28, 2021 and river flooding on August 28 and 29, 2021, as follows: due to severe rain , strong winds and river flooding on August 28, 2021, for the municipalities of Cihuatlán and La Huerta; due to severe rain and strong winds on August 28, 2021, for the municipalities of San Gabriel and Zapotlán el Grande; due to severe rain and river flooding on August 28, 2021, for the municipalities of Autlán de Navarro, Casimiro Castillo, El Grullo and Villa Purificación; due to severe rain on August 28, 2021, for the municipalities of Cabo Corrientes, Talpa de Allende, Tomatlán, Atenguillo, Atoyac, Cuautitlán de García Barragán, Ejutla, El Limón, Mascota, Mixtlán, Santa María del Oro and due to river flooding the August 28 and 29, 2021, for the municipality of Puerto Vallarta.

The Declaration of Natural Disaster will serve for the purpose of addressing the damages triggered by natural phenomena, in accordance with the provisions of the General Civil Protection Law and the Guidelines.

From the Government of Jalisco, we will continue to work in coordination with the municipal and federal authorities to monitor and support all the families that have been affected by the rainy season.
