Active Covid Cases Remain Stable After First Two Weeks of Classes

On the 14th day after returning to the classroom, the incidences of contagion of COVID-19 in the schools of Jalisco did not skyrocket.

After completing the first 14 days of returning to face-to-face classes, the report of incidences of contagion of COVID-19 in schools remains stable, so the strategy designed to return to classrooms in Jalisco continues to work. Regarding the incidence of active COVID-19 cases detected in basic education schools, it continues to be a minimum with only 0.0039% in students, that is, 64 active cases. On the other hand, 102 of the educational personnel were registered, which is equivalent to 0.0825% of the total educational workforce.

The cases were identified in 144 schools statewide, which corresponds to 1.07% of the 13,415 institutions of basic education in the entire state.

According to the epidemiological follow-up carried out by the Jalisco Ministry of Health in coordination with the Jalisco Ministry of Education, this week it is reported that in the ages of students from 3 to 14 years (basic education,) there are 503 cases that symptoms began in the last 15 days, of which only 64 were identified in schools. Most of the positive cases in this age range are present in the AMG with 347, since in this area there is a greater demographic concentration.

This last week there was a slight increase in student attendance. According to the Jalisco Education Secretariat, 85.3% of pre-school, primary, and secondary school students attended, that is, 1,416,451 students decided to return to the face-to-face educational model. With the model for back to school in Jalisco, it has been achieved that 98.86% of schools remain open to receive students in their classes with a hybrid model in force in the entity that allows taking face-to-face classes or distance education in a self-managed way.
