Leave the Car at Home and Ride Your Bike During Mobility Week

Mobility Week and World Car-Free Day will be held from September 18 to 24, with the theme "Comprehensive and Sustainable Transport," to promote the use of less polluting alternative transportation.

As part of the actions for Mobility Week, the Government of the State of Jalisco and the metropolitan municipalities invite you to leave the car and use the bicycle, one of the means of transport that does not pollute and provides health benefits.

The City of Guadalajara will provide activities beginning on Saturday, September 18, with the Metropolitan Tour for Sustainable Mobility that will depart at 9:00 am from the Plaza de la Bandera, and will conclude in the Parque de la Solidaridad at 1:00 pm.

On behalf of the AMIM and the Public Bicycle System of the AMG, MiBici invites you to an artistic intervention at the intersection of Parque Revolución and Av. López Cotilla, to capture motifs alluding to active mobility, highlighting the pedestrian as the most important character within the mobility pyramid. The activity will take place on September 18 and 19 after 10:00 p.m.

With the support of the Guadalajara Environment Directorate and the Metropolitan Agency for Urban Forests, a night ride will be convened on Friday, September 24, at 10:00 p.m. on the bike lanes of Manuel Ávila Camacho and Fray Antonio Avenues.  This activity will culminate with a workshop and planting of trees in the cycling infrastructure of the Glorieta de la Normal.

Within the framework of the World Car-Free Day and promoting the use of bicycles, users who register for MiBici on Wednesday, September 22, will be awarded a kit with promotional items for the system.

The activities will be carried out outdoors and following the sanitary measures to avoid contagion; Attendees will be asked to wear face masks and antibacterial gel will be provided.

During this week there will also be activities on social networks promoting the safe use of bicycles for cyclists and MiBici users. The dynamics can be consulted on the social networks of IMEPLAN, MiBici and AMIM.
