Provisions Delivered by Air to Rural Community Isolated for 13 Days After Storm

Pantries were delivered to 100 families in Desmoronado who had been stranded due to road damage and closure for 13 days since the passing of “Nora.”

The Government of Jalisco, through the Chief of Cabinet, and in collaboration with the Emergency Medical Care System and the State Civil Protection Unit, continue with the delivery of pantries in communities that have been affected by the present rainy season in the state.

On this occasion the authorities flew by air to take food to the residents of the Desmoronado community, in the municipality of Talpa de Allende. The community had been isolated for 13 days due to the damage on the road that accesses the town, a situation in which the provisions ran out in the local stores and they no longer had resources.

The benefit was for more than 100 families that inhabit the area. Each pantry contained basic necessities, as well as food, water, and medicines, with an approximate weight of 18 kg each.

It is important to mention that these pantries were donated by citizens who live in Puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara, and Bahía de Banderas.

In addition, two older adults were transferred to the Puerto Vallarta Convention Center, where their relatives were already waiting for them to be treated by medical personnel, because their chronic conditions had become aggravated.

Regarding the road that leads to the community, it is reported that work is being carried out by the units of the A Toda Maquina Program and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Jalisco to carry out the reconstruction of the section and enable circulation as soon as possible.

Likewise, they continue to work in different areas of Jalisco territory in the rehabilitation of roads and highways.

From the Government of Jalisco; We will continue working in a coordinated way to get the resources immediately to those who need them.

We extend a call to the general population to stay informed through official channels and not fall into misinformation, as well as avoid crossing rivers or streams in times of intense rain, and maximize their care during the present season, and in case of emergency dial 911.
