Missing Baby Found Alive and Well; Genetic Tests Confirm Identity

After the missing baby was found in the municipality of Zapopan, genetic DNA tests were carried out this Thursday to confirm the identification of the minor.

The tests confirmed that it is the same that was stolen last Wednesday, August 25, from the General Hospital of the West.

The baby was taken from the hospital sometime after 6:00 p.m., when a woman dressed in a surgical suit posing as medical personnel asked the mother to hand it over to her to perform a medical procedure, and then she fled with the newborn. The hospital staff soon realized the absence of the baby, and made the report to the authorities of the Zapopan Security Police Station.

Once the minor was located in the Colonia Arcos de Zapopan and was preliminarily identified by her parents, personnel from the Jalisciense Institute of Forensic Sciences, collected the samples corresponding to the minor to perform the genetic tests themselves, which were concluded to be positive with those of his mother.

With the location and delivery of the minor to her relatives, the investigations by the Jalisco Prosecutor's Office will continue permanently in order to obtain more evidence that allows the capture of who was behind the theft of the minor.

In the same way, the State Prosecutor's Office thanks all the citizens who through different means were providing data in order to be able to locate the little girl, as well as the person who allegedly took her from the health center.

As the investigations progress and more data is obtained, it will be made known to society through official channels.
