Responsible Verification Goes into Effect Tomorrow

Responsible Verification Goes into Effect Tomorrow

As of tomorrow, Monday, the obligation in the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area of the Responsible Verification Program begins intensive.

For private vehicles with license plate termination 7, as well as termination 3 and 4 in the case of heavy use vehicles, will have a two-month period (August-September) to fulfill their responsibility, and gradually the obligation will be extended according to the official calendar.

For this reason, the Ministry of the Environment and Territorial Development (Semadet) calls on car owners and/or drivers to fulfill their responsibility in a timely manner, and in this way contribute to the reduction of polluting emissions generated by mobile sources, having a positive impact on the environment and public health.

The appointment process for Responsible Verification (VR) is very simple, citizens only have to enter the website: verificacionresponsable.jalisco.gob.mx with their circulation card at hand; select the closest Responsible Verification Center (CVR), or search on the interactive map; enter personal and vehicle data; choose the time and date to carry out the test, and proceed to make the payment.

The cost of the VR is $ 500 pesos. Payment can be made online, at collectors and bank windows. In the case of vehicles with foreign plates, currently payment can only be made at collectors.

If the verification is not approved in the first attempt, the citizen must take their vehicle to maintenance to correct the faults. Subsequently, you have a second chance at no cost at the same Responsible Verification Center and within the period established in the official calendar. In case of not approving for the second time, it is important that the driver carries both proofs of rejection, since he has one year to correct the faults without his vehicle being entitled to a sanction or withdrawn from circulation.

It is recommended to have carried out a physical-mechanical maintenance in advance, since with an adequate service to the engine with the mechanic of their trust, users can obtain better results in their verification.

To take the VR test, citizens are reminded that they must arrive 15 minutes before their appointment. In case of cargo transport, it is requested that they come without cargo. In the same way, in attention to the sanitary measures of COVID-19 and for safety, they must go with the vehicle clean inside and out, wear a face mask at all times, use antibacterial gel, and take their temperature when entering, and there will only be allowed one person per vehicle.

Currently the infrastructure of the Program is located in the AMG, there are 12 verification lines distributed in: the AIRE Guadalajara Center (2 lines), the Official Measurement Center (COM) (2 lines), the Mobile Unit (1 line) , and the Center for Responsible Verification (CVR) Dekra (7 lines). Likewise, 93 more lines are in the process of construction throughout the state, which guarantees the installed capacity for the sector that is within the obligation.

In case citizens have any questions regarding the Responsible Verification Program, they can contact the Call Center: 33 26 56 51 50. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. at 8 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. at 4 p.m. It can also be done by email This email address is being protected from spambots. Editor’s Note: Because Puerto Vallarta does not yet have an inspection station, rumor has it that Responsible Verification will not be enforced here until that infrastructure is in place. There is a station under construction near the main bus terminal, and upon completion local authorities will establish the process for verification. For the same reason, vehicles circulating in Puerto Vallarta are exempt from the Temporary Stay Pass required in the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area.
