Local Municipalities Integrate on Matters of Public Safety

This Thursday the first meeting was held of the Interstate Executive Commission, which integrates the municipalities of Puerto Vallarta, Cabo Corrientes, Bahía de Banderas and Compostela.

The commission has the purpose of continuing to develop strategies and team actions that provide peace of mind to both citizens and visitors.

In this meeting, held virtually, the interim municipal president, Jorge Antonio Quintero Alvarado, confirmed the interest that Puerto Vallarta has in continuing to join forces on an issue as important as the safety and well-being of citizens, since it is also related to issues of civil protection.

“We are part of this community of Cabo Corrientes, Puerto Vallarta, Bahía de Banderas and of course Compostela. The idea is for us to work together, to continue working on these security strategies that ultimately help us to be communicating with each other, and to be able to facilitate security issues on the coast of Jalisco or… Riviera Nayarit,” he pointed out.

The technical secretary of the Security Board in Jalisco, David Vega Aguilar, stressed that although each region of both states holds their own sessions, it was necessary to establish this work that would include everyone, since crime does not recognize borders, and thus strengthen the tasks that remain in this matter. A point on which the technical secretary of Nayarit, José Luis Rodríguez, agreed, and stressed that the objective is to assist in these actions and establish strong communication and coordination ties between these regions.

In this first session, it was agreed to hold meetings periodically, every 15 days, to continue generating strategies and pertinent work to keep crime rates low and continue to provide security to citizens in a collaborative manner.
