“Dolores” Leaves Jalisco with Moderate Rain, Road Damage, and One Death

100 officers were deployed in the South, North, Sierra de Amula and South Coast areas of Jalisco. The work coordinated with the three levels of government guaranteed the safety of the inhabitants of the State.

Finally at dawn this Sunday, "Dolores" dissipated over the state of Zacatecas, leaving in our state, light to moderate rains in much of Jalisco. Flooding did not occur in the South Coast, North Coast, Sierra de Amula and the South Zone of Jalisco, places where 100 officers of the Jalisco State Civil Protection and Firefighters Unit were deployed, doing work in prevention, risk management, monitoring, and surveillance of the hydrometeorological phenomenon.

The rains caused by “Dolores” left minor effects such as rock and tree collapses on the free state highway to Tonila, and on state highway 200 that leads from Cihuatlán to Puerto Vallarta, events in which actions were taken immediately. In addition, the  rains that “Dolores” left on its way through the south of the state caused the reopening of the crack that opened on May 10 on kilometer 68 + 200 of the state highway 401 that leads from Sayula to Usmajac. Authorities SIOP and the Road Police decided to completely close this road until further notice.

Also, in Ciudad Guzmán, last Friday night a man lost his life after lightning struck the soccer field where a sporting match was taking place.

The Government of Jalisco, through the State Unit for Civil Protection and Firefighters, reiterates its commitment to always work in a coordinated manner with authorities of the three levels of government for the benefit of the Jalisco population through official channels.
