This Tuesday, 38,417 doses of COVID-19 vaccines were applied in Jalisco, mainly covering residents between 50 and 59 years old of the municipalities of Tlajomulco, El Salto, Tonalá and Tlaquepaque
and 44 other municipalities. In the macromodule installed in the Benito Juárez auditorium, 13,200 vaccines were administered, a figure that also includes pregnant women and lagging older adults who received their first dose from the pharmaceutical company Pfizer-BioNTech.
Meanwhile, in the 44 municipalities (of ten health regions of the state) more than 22,000 people over 50 years of age were immunized with the AstraZeneca vaccine; as well as 824 lagging older adults and 627 pregnant women. This round of vaccinations will continue to June 4th depending on the municipality.
And in a very significant way, a special day for bedridden people concluded. In total, 203 women and men over 50 years of age, whose health condition prevents them from leaving home, received the biological against the SARS-CoV-2 virus in their homes, thanks to the vaccination brigades headed by IMSS and ISSSTE personnel in Jalisco.
This is how immunization progresses in the state of Jalisco, but the population is reminded that the pandemic is still active and therefore preventive measures must be maintained, even when vaccinated. Use masks properly; this simple measure can reduce the risk of contagion, stay only for a short time in public spaces, maintain a distance of 1.5 meters between people, and wash hands frequently with soap and water or use 70% alcohol-based gel.
If symptoms such as persistent cough, shortness of breath, fever that does not subside, or blood oxygenation drops below 92, you should go to an emergency room and not wait for a confirmatory test of COVID-19.
Since March 14, 2020, the day the first two patients were notified in Jalisco, to date, 250,332 confirmed cases have accumulated in the entity, detected thanks to the RADAR System; as well as a total of 12,317 deaths confirmed by the infection of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
