Authorities of Three Levels of Government to Establish Permanent Surveillance in the BLP

Sectioned zones will be established for permanent supervision within the Bosque de La Primavera forest west of Zapopan.

The coordinated effort will be established with authorities from the three levels of government as investigations continue to find those responsible for set fires.

Following the instructions of the Governor of the State Enrique Alfaro Ramírez, and after the corresponding authorities determined that the fires that struck the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area (AMG) yesterday were purposeful, and put the lives of citizens and the personnel of brigade members at risk, that, an emergency inter-institutional meeting was held to determine the follow-up that will be given in order to prevent these events from occurring again.

During this meeting headed by the Secretary General of the Government Enrique Ibarra Pedroza, vulnerability zones were determined within the La Primavera Forest that will allow the main areas of access to the forest to be monitored by its corresponding municipality, and thus also establish the permanent supervision zones that will be carried out by the security authorities, in order to avoid the repetition of the events where forest fires were deliberately started.

In addition to these actions, it was established that surveillance flights will be carried out in the forested area as well.

And in coordination between State and municipal authorities of Tonalá, El Salto, Zapopan, and El Arenal, additional personnel will be provided for the surveillance of their landfills.

It should be noted that there is evidence that the fires were set not precisely for agricultural production or real estate interests, but with other specific interests, which is why a thorough investigation will be carried out criminally to find those responsible for the events.

The government of Jalisco will continue working to find those responsible for this attack on nature, and the personnel who risk their lives to keep the forests free of pollution and fire.
