Four Regions of Jalisco have Zero Hospitalizations for COVID-19

Four Regions of Jalisco have Zero Hospitalizations for COVID-19

The North region of the State, the South Coast, the Cienega and the Southeast region do not have inpatients.

Vaccination of groups highly vulnerable to the coronavirus continues to advance. People still vaccinated with the full schedule must continue to comply with sanitary measures.

Hospital occupancy due to COVID-19 registered an average of 7.3 percent in Jalisco last week, which means that only seven out of every 100 hospital beds enabled to care for severe coronavirus patients are occupied. In four specific regions of the entity, there has not even been at this time a single internal patient due to contagion of this disease.

As of May 9, the areas of the State with zero hospitalizations for COVID-19 are the North region, the South Coast, the Cienega and the Southeast region. This includes general beds and fan beds.

Maintaining a low hospital occupancy requires the effort of society as a whole, which is why the Ministry of Health (SSJ) invites the population to continue complying with preventive measures and health care.

Although in Jalisco the vaccination against COVID-19 for highly vulnerable groups continues to advance, it is important to take into account that immunity against the coronavirus is reached starting 15 days after the application of the second dose (or in some cases the only dose.)

Vaccines are safe and effective to avoid serious complications from this disease, but even when vaccinated, people can become infected and spread the coronavirus with risk for those who are not vaccinated, therefore the following prevention measures must be maintained:

Wear a mask properly (this simple measure can reduce the risk of contagion up to 90 percent), stay for a short time in public spaces, keep a distance of 1.5 meters between people and wash your hands frequently with soap and water or use 70 percent alcohol-based gel . In addition to avoiding family gatherings of more than 10 people in a home.

In case of presenting symptoms such as persistent cough, respiratory distress, fever that does not subside or blood oxygenation decreases to less than 92, you should go to an emergency unit and not wait for a confirmatory test of COVID-19.

Since March 14, 2020 - the day the first two patients were notified in Jalisco - to date there have been 247 thousand 480 confirmed cases in the entity, detected thanks to the RADAR System; as well as a total of 11,899 confirmed deaths from the SARS-CoV-2 virus infection.
