Interim Mayor Alvarado Thanks City Council Members in Their Last Meeting

The first mayor pointed out that even when there were disagreements, the opinion of all the members of the Cabildo was always listened to and respected.

In what was the last ordinary session of the City Council 2018-2021, the interim municipal president, Jorge Antonio Quintero Alvarado, recognized the work and dedication of the City Council, where the correct decisions have been made for Puerto Vallarta.

"I want to tell you that the work we have done over these three years has been quality work, thinking about who we represent at a given moment," said the mayor, pointing out that even when there were disagreements, they were always heard, and he respected the opinion of all the members of the city council.

Quintero Alvarado highlighted the work they carried out as legislators in updating municipal regulations, and many other important initiatives and agreements for the social, economic, and tourist development of Puerto Vallarta. "In that sense, I want to tell you that an extraordinary job was done," as that is his role to do so.

He thanked each of the councilors for their support. “It has been a pleasure to work. Puerto Vallarta is not, was not, and has not been easy to govern. I believe that we must teach ourselves to listen to all citizens. I believe that we should all participate in the table, but always advocating for dialogue, for peace, and non-violence.”

He added that any transformation that is wanted to be made in the municipality, in the country and wherever, “has to be attached to the right of non-violence, the right to be listened to, the right to participate and respect the thoughts of each of the citizens, because here in Puerto Vallarta we make different decisions. But today we demonstrate as a council that by making the right decisions and talking to each other, we were able to move Puerto Vallarta forward. Thank you very much,” he finished.

After closing the last ordinary session in which it was approved to award recognitions to two outstanding Vallarta athletes and three tourist guides, the interim mayor presented the badges to the champion in Basque pelota, the frontenist Lupita Hernández, and to Ximena Plácito Goche, first place in the Seventh World Cup in Fronton 30 meters, held in Valencia, Spain, who have all raised the name of this city and are a great pride for Puerto Vallarta.

Likewise, the tourist guides Julián Ortega Estrada, Reinhard Dressler and Felipe de Jesús Ibarra Belmont were recognized for their great contribution to this activity and to promoting tourism in this destination.

Thank you Good Citizens, and Thank You Mayor Jorge Antonio Quintero Alvarado and the City Council for all the good work you have done. May Puerto Vallarta continue to prosper!
