Mayor Requests Bus Routes 3 and 12 to La Aurora and Remance Remain Operating

Mayor Alvarado proposes to create a working table to find a solution regarding the continuance of routes 3 and 12.

With the commitment to help solve, within its capacity, the problem they have to continue operating some of the routes in the city, this Tuesday afternoon the acting Mayor Jorge Antonio Quintero Alvarado met with transporters and state authorities, where he proposed the creation of a work table towards dialogue to find a solution to his concerns.

The first mayor indicated that the objective of the meeting was to listen to the concerns and seek a solution to the problem, and lay the foundations for the next administration to continue the commitments made.

At the meeting, the carriers stated that they have a concession to operate routes 3 and 12 that correspond to Remance and La Aurora, a service that the Unibus company route does not provide, for which they asked the transportation authority to let them continue workimg in accordance with the law.

In this context, the first mayor proposed the installation of a work and dialogue table, for which the authorization of the State Secretary of Transportation will be requested in order to create it, which will allow the necessary monitoring that is carried out periodically, and a permanent solution to this problem can be sought. In the mean time, the municipal government continues to be the intermediary with the state authorities.

The mayor offered that the City Council can provide them with legal advice, so that they can explain in detail the situation that prevails so far with the lawsuits they have filed against the corresponding authorities.

Similarly and at the request of the carriers, Mayor Jorge Quintero mentioned that the head of the Ministry of Transportation will also be sent the request that will allow them to continue working during the time that their situation is resolved.

The transporters thanked the municipal government for opening up to help them solve the problem, and promised to continue working in accordance with the law in the future, once their situation is resolved.
