Triumph for Rancho Nácar Colony as First 125 Land Titles Delivered

With the delivery of 225 property titles, the dream of the families of the Rancho Nácar neighborhood, seeking a secure heritage, became a reality.

This thanks to the teamwork that the inhabitants maintained as a team, the municipal government chaired by Jorge Antonio Quintero Alvarado, and the family of the fractionator Sr. Juan Durán, with which today legal certainty is given to the homes of this community.

Rancho Nacar is a rural neighborhood located in the vicinity of El Zancudo, northeast of Puerto Vallarta, where back in the 90’s the owner of the land, Sr. Juan Durán had taken a loan before dividing the property. 473 lots were sectioned and many of them were sold without clear title. When the original loan was not paid off, the company that issued the loan threatened the new owners with losing their land. They protested the situation back in 2006, but got no response. Then three years ago in September of 2019 they protested again, and this time the request was recognized in October of that year.

The interim mayor celebrated that after an arduous process, today good news is given to the first 125 families that live in this neighborhood. It is a job that, as he said, has been promoted since he was in the municipal receivership and at the head of this council was the president Arturo Dávalos Peña, and that after covering the different stages that this process requires, today it ensures the patrimony of more Vallartans, thus fulfilling the commitment that was made with all of them.

“Today you will receive your title deed as one of the most important dreams in the life of each one of you. It is a long process of struggle, patience, tenacity, and effort that have been left behind. As of today, that little piece of Vallarta land that you have so carefully cared for is officially yours. For this municipal government, giving them these titles is to do social justice, it is to have certainty and guarantee their patrimony, it is to build together a more prosperous municipality with more opportunities," he proclaimed.

He also highlighted the support received in this process by the family of Mr. Juan Durán, who many years ago had sold these lands and whose accompaniment allowed significant progress in this process, also highlighting the constant work that was had by the different areas of the municipal government to respond to the request of the residents of Rancho Nácar.

The first of these new titles was delivered to Mrs. María del Rosario Gutiérrez. On behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs. María del Rosario Gutiérrez, excitedly said "because finally we have made the effort of so many years!" She went on to share with those present the emergence of this colony 15 years ago, a time in which they always sought to obtain this document; meeting on the road with people who wanted to deceive them, but also with those who guided and supported them in the process; achieving in this municipal administration that teamwork that gives them the security of their property today.

“I want to thank each of the authorities, at the time President Arturo Dávalos, who also took part of the demands. Many thanks also to the president who today had the joy of sharing the triumph with us as well. Many thanks to each one of you for having made our dream possible, a reality, and as you said, there are still more to come. But that opens up confidence for those who are missing because they saw that it can be done and that is why we are here today.”

The director of Urban Development and the Environment, José Fernando López Márquez, and the deputy director of the agency, Luis Ricardo Huaracha Gutiérrez, referred to the regularization process, which although still pending, has advanced and has been perfected to benefit the citizens; so the delivery of these titles is just a sample of the work that is being done in favor of families, and of the great commitment that exists on the part of a great team of public servants.

Witnesses to this delivery were the municipal trustee Eduardo Martínez Martínez and the councilor Carmina Palacios Ibarra, president of the Justice and Human Rights Building Commission.
