Over the Last Six Years Close to a Billion Pesos Invested in More Than 350 Works

With the teamwork of the state and federal governments, hundreds of streets and avenues, parks, sports and educational spaces have been transformed.

With the cooperation of state and federal governments, the municipal government of Puerto Vallarta headed by interim mayor Jorge Antonio Quintero Alvarado, has invested nearly one billion pesos in infrastructure works that transformed the city, with dignified streets and avenues providing better mobility and connectivity in the colonies.

There are more than 350 works, some of them still in process, which are mostly roads, parks, sports and educational spaces, and others carried out in the last six years, which have changed the quality of life for thousands of families in Vallarta.

The foregoing is the result of the teamwork of the three levels of government, but above all the commitment of the current municipal administration with the citizens and the proper management of public resources, by putting order in municipal finances.

In this way, streets that remained unpaved for many years could be transformed; modernizing avenues and building roads to improve the city's connectivity with the different neighborhoods and communities of the municipality.

Some of thses rehabilitated streets are Manantial Street, in the Buenos Aires neighborhood; the avenue México-Mojoneras-Ixtapa; Los Poetas avenue that connects with Carboneras street; and Las Torres avenue, where the third stage is currently taking place.

Also, the rehabilitation of the lateral lanes of the Francisco Medina Ascencio entrance avenue, in a north-south direction; Vienna, France and Nice streets, among others in process in the Versailles colony; vehicular and pedestrian bridges in different neighborhoods; and many more works in El Pitillal, Las Juntas, Ixtapa, Las Palmas and rural communities in the municipality.

It also stands out the rehabilitation and improvement of the different sports spaces, such as the athletics track in the Agustín Flores Contreras sports unit, as well as the municipal auditorium; outdoor soccer, volleyball and basketball courts and racquetball courts, among others.

Currently, work is being done on the modernization of the athletics track and other spaces of the Alfonso Díaz Santos sports unit, but other sports fields such as the Infonavit CTM and Ramblases, among others, were also rehabilitated.

Different schools also benefited from the construction of domes or roofing of civic patios, for a better development and learning of the students.

For the support provided, the assistance agency thanked companies and institutions such as Bar Roxy, Estancia Infantil Miss Clau, Mazda Puerto Vallarta, Hotel Sheraton, Centro Comercial Lago Real, Hotel Krystal, Stratego Firma, Ciudadanos de Puerto Vallarta, Cultura Jalisco, CECyTEJ, ICEP Institute and civil society in general.
