Donations to Help Victims of “Nora” Greatly Appreciated

Thanks to the donations made in the collection centers and by various local companies, DIF Vallarta delivers support to victims of "Nora."

With the support of people with great hearts, the Puerto Vallarta DIF System delivered pantries and basic necessities to people affected by the passage of hurricane "Nora" throughout the municipality, bringing a message of hope and strength to families of about a hundred affected houses.

The director of the organization, Celina Lomelí Ramírez, thanked the effort, empathy, and willingness of the people who came to take their donation in the collection centers installed the previous week, into the central offices of the DIF System and in the Dome of Ixtapa.

With the support of the Directorate of Social Development, through the sector coordinators, donations were delivered to the victims of the Getsemaní, La Desembocada, Paso Ancho, Buenos Aires, Paso del Guayabo, Llanitos and El Caloso neighborhoods, distributing more 250 pantries, 1,200 rolls of toilet paper, and 100 bags of clothes with sheets, towels, and personal hygiene items.

In addition, it should be remembered that an economic donation in the amount of 41,500 pesos was received from the Chaîne Des Rôtisseurs association for the purchase of mattresses and bed bases, support that will be delivered directly to those affected.

In addition, the assistance agency thanked companies and institutions for their provided support such as Bar Roxy, Estancia Infantil Miss Clau, Mazda Puerto Vallarta, Hotel Sheraton, Centro Comercial Lago Real, Hotel Krystal, Stratego Firma, Ciudadanos de Puerto Vallarta, Cultura Jalisco, CECyTEJ, ICEP Institute and civil society in general.
