Mayor Offers Public Apology to Relatives of Deceased Minor of the Las Juntas Accident

Interim municipal president Jorge Quintero Alvarado offered today on behalf of the municipality from Puerto Vallarta, a public apology to the relatives of the minor Julio César Quiñones Moreno.

The young boy lost his life in an unfortunate electrocution incident in the main square of the Las Juntas delegation on September 17, 2020.

With all the formality and respect on the part of the plenary session of the City Council, Quintero Alvarado addressed the parents of the minor, as well as the population in general, to offer "on behalf of the municipality of Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, a respectful, attentive, and sincere public apology to the relatives who are present here, for the sensitive death of little Julio César Quiñones Moreno.”

The mayor also asked to observe a minute of silence in memory of the minor, and immediately afterwards ordered, instructed, and exhorted all public servants that make up the municipal administration, “to carry out and attend to the obligations inherent to their position with efficiency and responsibility, taking care at all times and (held) above all the protection and physical integrity of the people.”

Before the plenary session of councilors of the City Council, he said that this sincere apology to the parents of Julio César “will mark from this moment on a new way of respecting the human rights of citizens in Puerto Vallarta. I believe that the municipal authority must at all times ensure the interest and the physical and moral protection of the people.”

He indicated that along with this unfortunate loss, Puerto Vallarta is experiencing additional tragedy due to the damage caused by hurricane "Nora" last weekend. “Today we also have the loss of a person, a minor under 13 years of age, and a 20-year-old girl who is missing. So today our responsibility is to protect people's lives,” he pointed out.
