Crime Rate Down in North Coast Due to Inter-Agency Coordination

In a virtual meeting of the security table, it was reported that the north coast region in June registered a decrease in crime rates.

This as a result of the coordination work between the different federal, state, and municipal security agencies of Tomatlán, Cabo Corrientes, and Puerto Vallarta, according to the statistics presented this Monday at the virtual meeting of the IX Costa Norte Regional Public Safety Council. 

During the meeting led by cabinet coordinator Víctor Bernal Vargas, the statistics for the month of June and the comparison with the month of May were presented, as well as the last three years. The figures represent a decrease not only in the numbers, but in certain areas such as the theft of private vehicles, motorcycles, and home burglaries. 

During the meeting it was reported that together with the National Guard surveillance operations still being carried out in Puerto Vallarta and the region, in addition the municipal police continue with tours in the neighborhoods with the highest crime incidence, as well as shopping centers and banks to avoid the commission of a crime 

On another point, Ernesto Sánchez from the Ministry of Welfare reported that as of this Tuesday the application of the first vaccine against Covid-19 to people between 30 and 39 years old begins, and for Puerto Vallarta there will be 27,000 doses, Cabo Corrientes with 900, Tomatlán with 3,100, and San Sebastián with 370. 

The official thanked all the support that the authorities of the three orders of government have given during the vaccination process in each of the venues.
