Puerto Vallarta Senior Citizens to be Reinstated as Packers

According to the National Institute for Older Adults through DIF Jalisco, in coordination with the Puerto Vallarta DIF System, seniors who work as packers in self-service stores were informed about their reincorporation to supermarkets in the coming dates.

In this regard, the deputy director of Programs of the assistance body, César Venegas Arceo, pointed out that the return to work of these people will only be for those older adults who have already had the two applications of the vaccine against COVID-19, belong to the packers registry, and have received special training in both customer service and protocols against the disease regarding themselves and interactions with others.

“They can return now, but in a staggered manner. It will be when the traffic light is green in the state and it will be the same companies that determine the dates, since they will have to review the person's documentation in the first instance,”he explained.

In the municipality there are about 300 older adults who are part of the packers' register through Casa de Día del DIF Vallarta, who received training in customer service and protocols against COVID-19.

It is worth mentioning that the trainings were carried out in small groups and a certificate was provided to each of them by the Jalisco Health Secretariat.

Store packers of any age usually work only for tips, and this should be remembered as you are purchasing your favorite items from your favorite Puerto Vallarta store, so please leave them a tip, as that is their source of income.
