Municipal Government Recognizes A Hero

They regret the death of a waiter and will provide support to the family members.

 

César Guadalupe Chávez Medrano, a waiter from Entrada del Sol, was walking along the beach when he noticed a girl straining to keep herself above water. He swam out to her and was able to save the girl, but was overwhelmed by a powerful wave and forced back into the sea himself.  Beach lifeguards and National Guardsmen pulled him from the water but were unable to resuscitate him. 

The interim mayor Jorge Quintero Alvarado, announced that the City Council is preparing a tribute in his honor. 

The government of Puerto Vallarta informs that after the unfortunate events in which Mr. César Guadalupe Chávez Medrano lost his life, while trying to save the life of a minor who was about to drown on the beach of Los Muertos, it will support in everything necessary to the relatives of this person. 

The interim municipal president, Jorge Antonio Quintero Alvarado, regretted what happened and offered his condolences to the family and friends of Chávez Medrano, who worked as a waiter in a restaurant in the area, and of whom he recognized his heroism. 

Likewise, he announced that in due course, once the family concludes grants its consent, the City Council will carry out a tribute in his honor, through the Civil Protection and Fire Department. 

He pointed out that in such a regrettable event, he is worthy of recognizing the feat of a person who loses his life to save another's.
