Augmented reality arrives at the museums of the MEG Jalisco this May 18.
The Decentralized Public Organization of Museums, Exhibitions and Galleries of Jalisco (MEG) commemorates International Museum Day with a digital exhibition with interventions in augmented reality made possible thanks to the artist Ricardo Luévanos.
Attendees will find postcards, which they can also take with them, with works by Ricardo Luévanos in all MEG museum venues. Each postcard will have a QR code on the back that, through the cell phone, will take visitors to an augmented reality with color, strength, and movement.
Participants are invited to take photos with the work in augmented reality, and upload it to networks by tagging the @MuseosDeJalisco Instagram account and using the hashtags: #DIMJalisco #EspaciosMEG #DIMElPalacioDeHierro
The Ministry of Culture of Jalisco through the MEG and with the support of El Palacio de Hierro, invite the population to visit one of its enclosures to commemorate the International Museum Day, which this year is dedicated to "The future of museums, recover and reimagine.”
Ricardo Luévanos lives and works in Guadalajara. With a work articulated through illustration, collage, digital painting and colored pencil, he explores emotional aspects and visual analogies that refer to human language and situations.
For the International Museum Day, he shares for the MEG a graphic series that transports us to the essence, to the vulnerability of life, and in contrast to the force of living it. Each piece is a representation of how we see ourselves, what we believe in, how we feel. A reminder that spring will always return.
In his work, naturalistic beauty and technique are the elements that allow him to communicate the drama of existence, which contrasts with his recurring visual aesthetics. He is interested in human anatomy and in recreating it with his own resources.

Exhibition "Nudalia" in the Museum of Popular Arts of Jalisco
The reopening of the Museum of Popular Arts of Jalisco, a space that aims to investigate, rescue, and disseminate the popular art of the State of Jalisco, is set off with a contemporary textile art project. Exhibition "60+ Consecrated Generation" at the González Gallo Cultural Center
Talking about 60+ does not refer only to a temporal parameter, but to the trajectories of the authors who today are the benchmark in the recent history of Jalisco art. The two generations that this exhibition brings together give an account of the styles and plastic transitions that were configured and consolidated over approximately 5 decades. Abstractions and neofigurations that today represent the break with a centralized history, and has subordinated the emergence of local art that have been, over time, naturally out of date. Exhibition "An Echo is an Echo, is an Echo," at the Juan Soriano Gallery
It explores the echoes and influences of 20th century Latin American literature in the production of contemporary art in the state through the work of artists from different generations.
